With breathtaking views of Dartmoor from nearly every window and glimpses of Exmoor from the bedrooms, Beaford Country House offers the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday with a large group of family or friends. The main house includes a magnificent dining room, a spacious hall and drawing room, a cosy library and a large kitchen with an Aga. There is also a laundry room, larder and a second prep kitchen, all designed to accommodate the needs of a group stay. The drawing room is ideal for unwinding in the evenings, featuring an open fire and ample seating, perfect for gathering after a day exploring or enjoying the pool. For quieter moments, the smaller library or snug provides a space for children to play games or watch a film. Large French doors from all the main rooms open out onto the verandah and gardens, creating a seamless connection between indoors and out.

The spacious kitchen retains many original features while incorporating modern conveniences, including granite worktops, seating around a central table, a four-oven Aga and a six-burner electric oven. Off the kitchen, a scullery houses a commercial two-minute dishwasher, sink and traditional crockery shelving. At the rear, a secondary kitchen offers additional storage, a freezer and a sink. A utility room includes a washing machine and an extra chest freezer.

Beaford Country House features nine individually designed bedrooms. Eight are en-suite, while the ninth has a private bathroom located on the landing. Each room is tastefully furnished, spacious and many enjoy valley views. Some rooms include balconies, four-poster beds, or king-size beds. There are three doubles, two family rooms that sleep four, one room with a king-size and a single bed, two king rooms and one twin room. All rooms are equipped with Freeview TV and towels.

Outside, the property offers a wide range of amenities for guests to enjoy in any season. A private hot tub is available year-round and the fenced, outdoor heated pool is open from Whitsun to mid-September. The large BBQ hut provides a cosy and unique experience whatever the weather. Guests can gather around the fire inside the lodge, cook meals, warm drinks and toast marshmallows while the British weather plays out beyond the windows. This space is perfect for creating special memories, whether on a summer evening or a chilly winter night.

Additional outdoor features include a quirky outside bar, a children’s playhouse and ample lawn seating. All electricity, gas, bed linen and an initial supply of fuel for the open fires are included in the stay. For larger events or weddings, the attached ballroom can be booked for an extra fee. Beaford Country House holds a civil wedding licence, making it an ideal venue for celebrations year-round, enhanced by its magical atmosphere and stunning views.
