The Old Cider House
Details
West Pennard is set in a spectacular rural location surrounded by beautiful countryside, perfect for long off-road walks and popular cycle routes that wind through the Mendips and Somerset Levels. Situated within a five-acre estate are three charming self-catering properties, each offering comfort, privacy and character, making them ideal for a peaceful countryside escape.
The Little Cottage
The Little Cottage, also known as The Annex, sleeps two and is a fully self-contained property designed to provide guests with complete privacy. It features a reception room with a double sofa bed, an open-plan fitted kitchen, a double bedroom and a modern en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. The cottage benefits from a central heating system, double glazing, neutral décor, soft furnishings, TV, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels. French doors open onto a private walled patio garden with raised herb and flower beds, a spacious seating area for al fresco dining or entertaining and a firepit that’s perfect for barbecues, toasting marshmallows, or simply relaxing under the stars. Off-street parking is provided for two cars, with space available for additional visitors. The kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher, washer-dryer, oven, digital hob, oak worktops, Belfast sink and ample kitchenware to make self-catering as easy as possible.
The Potting Shed
The Potting Shed sleeps three and overlooks the paddock, offering its own private walled garden with outdoor seating on a gravel terrace, seasonal herb and flower beds and the option of a BBQ or firepit to enjoy the west-facing sunshine or starlit evenings. Inside, the renovated 200-year-old building retains many of its original features, with solid wood and Blue Lias stone elements blending beautifully with the bathroom and kitchen. The property has a spacious double bedroom with en-suite access, a desk for those needing to work and an open-plan reception room with kitchen and wood burner. A sofa-bed/daybed provides additional sleeping space, making it a cosy and versatile retreat tucked away at the back of the estate.
The Cider House
The Cider House, sleeping five, is a refurbished 300-year-old property built from locally sourced Blue Lias stone and thoughtfully modernised while retaining many of its original features. Spread over two floors, the stylish interiors combine stone-tiled and wooden floors with tasteful furnishings and wood burners for added warmth. The large kitchen is a focal point, complete with a spacious island, breakfast bar, range cooker with three ovens, American fridge freezer, dishwasher, utility area, oak worktops, wine rack and butler sink, alongside French windows and stable doors. A generous dining room leads onto the rear garden, while the large reception room offers Sky TV, Wi-Fi and ample space for relaxation.
