The George Inn is a 17th century family owned free house located in the scenic village of Croscombe near Wells in Somerset.

We are renowned for excellent pub food, offering a blend of traditional and contemporary British cuisine. Alongside classic pub dishes, we feature regularly changing specials made from scratch using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Dining options abound, with seating available in the cosy snug for 10, the restaurant for up to 25, the old tack room for 20 and the main bar for 40. The bar's open fire and the snug's wood-burning stove make these spaces particularly inviting during the winter months.

All our rooms are en-suite with showers and include free Wi-Fi, a TV and tea-making facilities. The Loft room can be arranged as either a twin or double, the Canada room is a spacious double with a bath, the Poppy room is a cosy double and the Woods room is a comfortable single.

Start your day with a breakfast to suit your needs, from a take-away sandwich to a hearty full English, with vegetarian and special dietary options available. Guests can also enjoy their morning tea or coffee in our private garden, a perfect spot to relax and soak up the sunshine.

We offer two real ales at any time, including our exclusive "King George The Thirst" and "George and the Dragon," brewed by Blindman’s Brewery in Leighton using Mendip spring water, Warminster malt and Canadian Chinook hops. These favourites are usually available, alongside a rotating selection of guest ales from local and national breweries such as Butcombe, Bath Ales and St Austell. We also serve four or more local ciders and there is a whole rangge of other drinks available too.
