Little Summerhill Cottages offers wonderful self catering accommodation in Dilhorne, Staffordshire. We are the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life.

Nestled by the lane on our smallholding they offer private parking, lawns to front and side and seating areas to enjoy the view over open farmland and our spectacular sunsets. Depending on the season there may be cows to calve or hay to make so sometimes will be busier than others! Whether you want to watch the fun or relax and watch the wildlife we will do our best to help you enjoy your stay.

Beech Cottage: Beech Cottage was the first of our barns to be converted and comprises of a kitchen/dining area/lounge, spacious bathroom and double bedroom. It has been likened to the Tardis, as it is bigger inside than it looks! The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, gas hob, extractor hood, small fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave oven, toaster, iron and ironing board. There is sufficient crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils to allow for entertaining if you wish.

The large, comfortable, leather corner seating unit is perfect to relax on and watch the digital TV and DVD player. There is a selection of reading material, DVD’s and games available for your enjoyment. The double bedroom has its own thermostat so that the temperature can be controlled separately to the rest of the cottage. The spacious bathroom has an over the bath shower and heated towel rail. Outside on the lawn there are chairs and side table so that you can enjoy the afternoon sun and our spectacular sunsets or just sit and watch the wildlife and passing walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

Chestnut Cottage: Chestnut Cottage is the second of our barns to be converted and the most popular with families as well as being suitable for the elderly and less mobile. Families should however discuss with us the suitability for their children due to the galleried bedroom and Velux windows. All on one level, the ground floor comprises kitchen/dining area/lounge, spacious wetroom and double bedroom. There is underfloor heating and tiled floors throughout making it warm and cosy in the winter but cool in the summer. An electric wall mounted fire provides instant heat, air conditioning or a warm glow if needed and there are thermostats in each room so that different temperatures can be maintained in different rooms.

Oak Cottage: Like our other cottages, Oak Cottages has underfloor heating and electric stove. The kitchen comes with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer, electric oven and ceramic hob with extractor hood and very well equipped cupboards. The lounge has a comfy leather corner settee and a wall-mounted TV/DVD player. The dining area is larger in this cottage with oak furnishings and extendable table. The downstairs double bedroom also has oak furnishings and an en suite shower room. Upstairs the galleried twin room is larger than in Chestnut Cottage and has its own en suite bathroom, built-in wardrobe and cupboards, oak furnishings, comfy settee and TV/DVD player. There is also a chair bed if needed. The staircase in this room is more enclosed but this must be taken into account when assessing its suitability for children.

During the summer some of our pedigree Limousin cattle and calves will be out in the fields but they can be rather nosy and boisterous so visitors are advised not to enter the fields. For this reason we cannot accept pets or children, although we do have a travel cot available for babies. We do not accept pets
