Loch Katrine Eco Lodges
Details
Loch Katrine is rightly considered the birthplace of Scottish tourism. Writers and artists, including Sir Walter Scott, put The Trossachs on the map with poems, stories and paintings that depicted the dramatic landscapes.
Boat trips accommodated those early tourists, with rowing boats replaced by Steamships 180 years ago. Cruises departed then, as they still do now, from Trossachs Pier. Since 1900, Steamship Sir Walter Scott has been in service on Loch Katrine, returning in Summer 2023 after an extensive restoration.
Overlooking the busy pier are the ten Loch Katrine Eco Lodges. There are three different types of lodges - Lochs, Bens and Glens, and some are en-suite. There is a nearby café and takeaway a short walk away. Walk, cycle and explore the beauty of this exceptional place, part of one of Britain's largest National Nature Reserves.
All lodge users enjoy 10% off scheduled cruises and 10% off cycle hire. Breakfast packs and Gas BBQ are available for hire and can be arranged at the time of booking. All have a deck area with a picnic table, ideal for sitting out and enjoying the loch view.
Loch Katrine is on the 40-mile Trossachs Trail, a spectacular route through stunning scenery with lochs, hills, mountains and villages to enjoy by bike, boot and boat.
