Details

Badwell Ash Holiday Lodges, near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, offers wonderful self catering accommodation in four stunning Scandinavian timber lodges and one luxury Shepherds Hut. Situated in five acres of breathtaking lakes and gardens, we really are an idyllic holiday destination.

Our superb lodges are perfect for a tranquil and relaxing holiday away. All our lodges have a deck over one of our well stocked fishing lakes so guests can sit and drink their complimentary Champagne, watch the local wildlife or have a BBQ. Each lodge is private, secluded and has its own hot tub. Guests are welcome to walk around the grounds, and make use of the communal firepit for toasting marshmallows or star gazing during our wonderfully quiet and dark evenings. In terms of fishing, our lakes are well stocked with a mix of species including carp of over 20lbs. All five of our lodges have an equal number of pegs available to them.

Our four timber lodges are called Heron, Kingfisher, Wagtail and Woodpecker. Each of these stunning lodges are nestled in peaceful corners of the site overlooking our two main fishing lakes. Each has an over-water deck complete with table and chairs, BBQ, and hot tub. Each has a cosy lounge with leather sofa and armchair, flat screen TV and DVD player. There is also a fully equipped kitchen/dining area with table and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with a range of excellent appliances including washing machine and dishwasher. Each lodges has two bedrooms: a luxurious double four poster bedroom and a double bedroom. The modern bathroom has a steam shower with body jets. Whilst all of the lodges are identical in size, layout and facilities, there are a few differences. Kingfisher has a double and two singles and also an access ramp for those with reduced mobility. Both Kingfisher and Heron are slightly more secluded offering greater privacy, whereas Woodpecker and Wagtail have commanding views over the lake.

Damsel is our luxury shepherds hut, designed and built for us bespoke by the English Shepherds Hut Co based in Norwich. It sleeps two in a double bed, and has an en-suite bathroom complete with hot shower and copper basin. Damsel may be smaller than our other lodges but incredibly cute, well equipped, and beautifully situated in between Kingfisher Lake and Mill Pond. Damsel has a wooden deck, BBQ, hot tub and also benefits from its own private barrel sauna. It is perfect for romantic breaks!

Our holiday lodges are on the edge of Badwell Ash village with its local shop, off licence, lovely gastro pub and excellent fish and chip shop. In the area we have an award winning butcher, lots of country pubs, fine dining, excellent walking and cycling routes, and some of the best bird watching reserves in the country. There are many pretty and historic villages and towns to explore, including Bury St Edmunds, Diss, Cambridge, Thetford and Norwich. The fabulous Suffolk coast is less than an hour away by car.
