Inchnadamph Explorers Lodge

Inchnadamph, Lairg, Sutherland
Sleeps: 1 to 49

Details

The Lodge offers a range of accommodation including private rooms and hostel dormitories, with shared bathrooms, self-catering kitchen, lounge and drying room.

In addition, 3 Steading Suites, 2 Shepherds Huts and the Walled Cottage offer self-catering accommodation with a private bathroom and access to their own kitchen.

We welcome groups, families and individuals alike.

Assynt in Sutherland is considered one of the most spectacular parts of the North Coast 500, as well as the National Scotland and Cape Wrath Trails.

Stunning mountain scenery, pure white sands and turquoise sea waters await. With so many incredible sights including Suilven, Loch Assynt, the Wailing Widow Falls and Achmelvich Beach, there's so much to explore.

Lodge facilities

We have a large, well-equipped self catering kitchen that is available for use by all Lodge guests. Gas/electric cookers, microwaves and large fridges are all yours to use.

The ability to prepare your own packed lunches and evening meals can save a fortune on the cost of eating out every day.

The Dining Room seats about 45 people at our large solid pine social dining tables. In the cooler months, a roaring fire in the stove keeps out the chill. A large window provides lovely views over Loch Assynt and towards Quinag, and there are French doors out to picnic tables.

Our free self service breakfast of cereals, toast & preserves, fruit juices and fresh coffee & tea is normally served from 8am until 9.30am.

Our guest lounge is adjacent to the dining room, next to reception. Fitted with comfy armchairs and a big sofa it's a great place to relax with a book or a board game. In winter (and chilly summer evenings!) We light the fire stove to keep things cosy. There are lots of local reference books with details on walking, the geology and the history of the Assynt area.

Free WiFi is available.

At reception you'll find a shop selling a selection of snacks, cooking ingredients, soft drinks, alcohol, essential toiletries and books & maps. It’s not a supermarket – but certainly there is enough to get by – and avoid an extra journey to Ullapool for a toothbrush!

In addition, we expect some "explorers" dehydrated food and camping gadgets will find their way onto our shelves, to help passing hillwalkers and trailblazers.

We've now linked up with the famous Lochinver Larder and sell a selection of their delicious pies in our shop - subject to availability.

There is a large drying room just beside the back door – ensuring you can at least start the day with dry clothes.

Private rooms

Our seven private rooms are mainly located on the top floor, and offer a higher level of privacy than the five shared hostel dorms on the first floor. They are ideal for couples, friends and families.

All the rooms are well furnished, fully made up upon your arrival, and towels are provided. Each room is equipped with a wash hand basin. Toilet and shower facilities are shared by all guests in the Lodge and located on all three floors.

Wheelchair access may be gained to all of the ground floor, which includes a further private bedroom (2 twin beds) adjacent to a disabled toilet/shower.

Hostel Dorms

On the first floor, there are 5 hostel rooms, sleeping between 4 to 8 people. There are separate male/female washrooms and a spacious mixed single shower with 7 cubicles. The dormitories are all mixed and fresh bed linen and duvets/pillows are supplied. Towels are available for hire.

Steading Suites – Sleeps 8

We have 3 self catering studios to choose from, based only 100 yards from the lodge. You can choose from Canisp, Quinag and Beinn Uidh. Canisp has a double and single bed, plus a small seating area. Quinag has a king bed and single (possibility to add a foldable bed for a child). Beinn Uidhe has a double bed. All the rooms have a private kitchen, underfloor heating and an en suite shower room with a WC. These ground-floor rooms offer wheelchair access and they all include linen, toiletries and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Walled Cottage – Sleeps 5

Our cottage offers cosy accommodation and was originally built within the former walled garden of the main lodge. The cottage comes with a lounge including a log stove, seating and Freesat TV. The well-equipped kitchen has a fridge freezer, electric cooker, microwave, toaster and kettle. The utility room houses a washing machine and the dining area seats up to 5 people.

The cottage has 1 double/twin room, 1 twin and 1 single room. There is a washroom with a shower and a WC.

You can enjoy lots of activities in the area whilst staying with us, including paddleboarding, climbing, mountain biking and kayaking. Achmelvich, Clachtoll Beach and Sandwood Bay are easily accessible. Attractions to visit include:
