Sealladh na Mara (pronounced Shall-uh nuh Maa-ruh and Gaelic for “View of the sea“) is a detached property providing contemporary self catering accommodation in the remote township of Inverkirkaig. We are just a couple miles from Lochinver, Sutherland. The house has wonderful views and stunning gardens is close to the sea shore.

This house is well equipped and includes a living room with bay views, widescreen TV, DVD player, Hi-Fi and multi fuel stove. There is an open plan kitchen/diner which has a TV, CD player, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and doors opening onto a verandah with views of the bay. Downstairs also has a double bedroom.

Upstairs you will find 3 bedrooms which consist of a master with a balcony and 2 twin rooms. The house is well stocked with books, maps, toys, games and tourist information leaflets.

Inverkirkaig is a small community 3 miles south of the busy fishing village of Lochinver, where there are many facilities including shops, cafes, petrol, tourist information centre, leisure centre, post office, bank and health centre. In Ullapool is the ferry terminal for the Isle of Lewis, large supermarket, leisure centre, swimming pool and golf course.

The surrounding area is famed for its wildlife; otters, seals, red and roe deer, pine martens, golden eagles and divers may be seen. There is a wealth of plant life including many alpine species and orchids. West Sutherland is a popular area with walkers, mountaineers, geologists and anglers. Mountain bikes can be hired in Lochinver. Close by there are fine white sand beaches for relaxing and bathing.
