Our Tree House Retreats are hidden within an ancient beech wood at Cowdray, a 16,000 acre natural playground in West Sussex, home to fabulous selection of outdoor activities, country pursuits, wellness & creative classes.

They offer the perfect balance of seclusion, being close to nature yet convenient; just a stroll across the famous polo fields to the award winning Cowdray Farm Shop and restaurant.

Cowdray is the ideal location for exploring the South Downs National Park; a haven of rolling hills, perfect pubs, countryside creativity, fabulous festivals & the centre of the exciting English wine scene.

We have 4 tree houses to choose from. Buzzard is at the top of the track and ideal for bringing along your four-legged friend. Chukka offers views across the polo grounds and the South Downs. Griffin has a bigger kitchen with a central island and Muntjac has both an indoor and outdoor bath.

Each tree house is styled with vintage furniture and modern art, plus a glass door and a balcony that is close to the forest canopy. Unwind in the sitting room after a day sightseeing, with a smart flat-screen TV, Bluetooth speakers and super-fast Wi-Fi provided. The well-equipped kitchen includes an induction hob, oven, grill, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer plus a full set of utensils, glassware, tableware & crockery.

A double room comes with a super king-size bed. There is one bathroom with a walk-in shower and an outdoor bath. A cot or toddler bed for infants and individual sofa beds for older children can be provided by arrangement.

Cowdray Estate offers something for everyone, including polo, clay pigeon shooting and mindfulness and wellbeing workshops. Onsite there’s also a farm shop and cafe.

Whilst staying with us you can visit the market town of Midhurst, or take a short drive to Petworth, home to independent shops, restaurants, galleries and antique shops. Visit Petworth House which offers one of the best National Trust art collections and a 700-acres deer park. Attractions to visit include:
