Sullington Manor Farm is the historic centre of the Saxon manor of Sullington. The ancient buildings, including the parish church of St Mary, represent over 1000 years of history; of people living and farming here. Sullington Manor Farm is a traditional, unspoilt working farm in the heart of the scenic South Downs National Park. Byre Cottages at Sullington Manor Farm provide self-catered, single storey accommodation equipped with everything you need for a comfortable holiday.
Here you can walk straight from the door. Footpaths run from the cottages across the farm and away across the network of paths on the Downs. There is a good sized heated outdoor swimming pool, well-maintained tennis court, table tennis table and children’s games.
Each holiday cottage offers access to a shared lawn in front of the spectacular Sullington Great Barn, a BBQ, garden furniture and most have a private patio. Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided, please bring your own pool/beach towels. The cottages have individual combination boilers for your convenience and for on-demand hot water and central heating (fuel costs included from June to September inclusive). Byre Cottage 1 - Sleeps 6
This generous sized cottage has been completely re-furbished, including new bathrooms and kitchen, for 2025. The cottage features an open-plan living/dining room and kitchen, one double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, another double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside, enjoy a private south-facing patio with a barbecue, furniture and plants, as well as access to a shared lawn with additional garden furniture.
Byre Cottage 2 - Sleeps 4
Set slightly apart from the other cottages, this cottage has its own private entrance and parking area off Sullington Lane. Inside, it offers a spacious open-plan living/dining room and kitchen, a double bedroom, a bunk bedroom and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside, enjoy a private patio with a barbecue, furniture and herbs, as well as access to a shared lawn with additional garden furniture.
Byre Cottage 3 - Sleeps 4
This cottage features an open-plan living/dining room and kitchen, one double room (5ft bed), one twin room and a completely new, for 2025, shower room with walk- in shower. Outside there is a private patio with barbeque and garden furniture as well as access to a shared lawn, with additional furniture.
Byre Cottage 4 - Sleeps 6
The cottage features an open-plan living room and kitchen, along with a separate dining conservatory. Down the hallway from the front door, you'll find a double bedroom, a small bunk room, a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Outside this cottage has a barbeque, garden furniture and shares a lawn, in front of the spectacular Sullington Great Barn, with the other holiday cottages.
Onsite Facilities
A good-sized, outdoor heated swimming pool, open during the summer months, tennis court, garden games, children’s’ facilities and table tennis table are available throughout your stay. Many young visitors love helping to collect the eggs each morning and our spaniels, Pepper, Birdie and Goose, are happy to be your holiday pets! If you are looking for a holiday place to enjoy (rather than just sleep) then these lovely self-catering country cottages are ideal.
The Café at The Old Workshop is open for exhibitions, talks and other occasions and provides delicious homemade light lunches and cakes. Cakes and private catering can also be booked through Anna or Gail.
The Old Workshop also houses an interesting display on the history of Sullington and farming on the South Downs.

Visiting the Area
If you feel you have to explore further then Sullington is ideally situated for easy access to the whole of Sussex. The South coast, including the Regency glory of Brighton and the sandy beaches of West Wittering, is around 30mins drive. The nearby towns of Brighton, Chichester, Arundel and Lewes, provide many historic sites, houses and castles. In addition, Sussex boasts widely acclaimed gardens and attractions, many very pretty villages with hidden away craftspeople and popular pubs, and central London is less than 1½ hours, by train. There are lots of local pubs, wineries and really good eateries in the area.
The largest property sleeps up to 6 people. Groups of up to 20 can be accommodated.
