Mil Bothy is situated above a quaint cove in Quidinish, boasting serene views of Loch Finsbay along the east coast of the Isle of Harris. This secluded spot offers breathtaking sea views, tranquility and an abundance of nature and wildlife, creating an ideal retreat for two.

Perfectly positioned on the stunning Bays of Harris coastline, Mil Bothy allows you to immerse yourself in the natural environment. From your doorstep, you can observe local wildlife, start scenic walks, or cycle around the island. The cottage’s remote location and cosy atmosphere provide a peaceful haven for those looking to reconnect with nature.

The cottage features an open-plan living room and kitchen with expansive views of the sea and surrounding landscape. The lounge/dining area is equipped with comfortable armchairs and settees, adorned with Harris Tweed curtains crafted by Donald John Mackay, a recent MBE honoree for his contributions to reviving the Harris Tweed industry. A visit to Luskentyre might even offer a glimpse of him at his loom.

Upon request, a table tennis table can be set up for guests’ enjoyment. Entertainment options include a TV, DVD player, radio and Wi-Fi.

The kitchen is well-equipped for culinary adventures, featuring gas cooking facilities, a large fridge-freezer and spacious walnut worktops that double as a breakfast bar. A large walk-in pantry and a utility area with a washing machine and microwave are also available. Guests are encouraged to use the provided cooking essentials such as oil, condiments and spices, replenishing as needed.

Warmth and comfort are ensured with an eco-friendly, glass-fronted pellet-burning stove located in the lounge.

The double bedroom offers a king-size bed, ample wardrobe space and a selection of books for bedtime reading. Linen, towels, bathrobes and complimentary toiletries are all provided. The bathroom includes both a walk-in shower and a full-length bath.

Mobile phone reception is reasonable, with the best network coverage from Vodafone & EE.

The cottage’s vantage point offers views across the Minch to the Cuillins on Skye to the southeast, and to the South Uist hills to the south-southwest. Whether the sea is calm or stormy, the views are spectacular.

Remote yet accessible, Mil Bothy is situated just 100 yards beyond our main house and 400 yards off the Quidinish road. A south-facing patio allows you to sit back and forget the world you've left behind.
