Gearrannan Blackhouse Village offers self catering accommodation in a glorious setting, nestled on the edge of the Atlantic on the Isle of Lewis. Our unique Western Isles holiday village is close to the renowned Calanais Standing Stones and perfect for an idyllic getaway in a stunning location.
All of our properties are brimming with an individual character, with each named after the family who once lived there. All the holiday homes enjoy amazing views, offering outstanding views of the surrounding area.
Taigh Glass
This blackhouse is ideal for a relaxing holiday in a special location. Inside there is a solid fuel stove, toasty underfloor heating, a shower room, a single bedroom and a double bedroom. A fully fitted kitchenette is great for home cooking and you can unwind in the living area which has a double sofa bed. The house is suitable for people with disabilities.
Taigh 'an t-Seòladair
Our cosy holiday home is great for the ultimate coastal retreat. Inside there is underfloor heating for the winter months, a solid fuel stove, a shower room, a double bedroom, a single bedroom, a fully fitted kitchenette and a relaxing living area with a double sofa bed.
Taigh Thormoid 'an 'ic Iain
This blackhouse is the oldest part of the Gearrannan Blackhouse Village. Inside there is a solid fuel stove, underfloor heating, double bedroom, shower room, fully fitted kitchenette and a living area.
Taigh Làta
Our blackhouse is great for a large family or group holiday. Excellent facilities include two seating areas, a solid fuel stove and a fully fitted kitchenette. The house has bunkhouse-style bedroom facilities, with sleeping areas of 6, 6 and 2.
The Gearrannan Hostel
We also offer hostel accommodation for up to 13 people in our restored blackhouse. Inside there is a fully fitted kitchen, showers and bunk beds. It sleeps 10 people, as well as a family room for 3. The accommodation is ideal for walkers, cyclists, backpackers, students and outdoor lovers.
The picturesque village offers a wealth of rural activities and lots of scenery to admire. You can enjoy a range of watersports and fishing, whilst the area is also home to an abundance of wildlife. Attractions to visit include:
