Details

Within the peaceful grounds of The Rectory Lacock are two charming self-catering holiday cottages: Lenton Cottage and Wheeler Cottage. These beautifully appointed retreats offer guests a private and flexible stay, ideal for those looking to enjoy the serenity of the countryside while remaining close to the heart of the historic village of Lacock. The cottages are part of the grounds of The Rectory originally built in 1866. Set within six acres of private Wiltshire countryside, the cottages provide a welcoming and tranquil escape in one of England’s most picturesque villages.

Lenton Cottage

Converted from the former rectory stables, Lenton is the larger of the two self-catering holiday cottages. The cottage features a vaulted ceiling in the lounge and dining area, with large windows and French doors that open out to views of the surrounding fields and stables. It includes one double bedroom with a king-sized bed and a second bedroom with a truckle bed, offering a double bed below and a single bunk above, making it suitable for up to four or five guests. Lenton Cottage is ideal for a couple, a young family, or business people working in the local area, though it is important to note that it does not accommodate more than two adults if separate beds are needed. The cottage is fully equipped with a modern kitchen including an electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge, along with a bathroom featuring a rain shower, WC and washbasin. Professionally laundered linen and towels are provided and guests also have access to complimentary Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, a DVD player and an iron and ironing board for added convenience. The cottage shares a dedicated patio area with Wheeler Cottage, offering a pleasant outdoor space for guests to enjoy.

Wheeler Cottage

Wheeler Cottage is the smaller of the two cottages, featuring a vaulted ceiling in the lounge and kitchen area and views overlooking the Rectory gardens. It includes one bedroom with a king-size bed and a second bedroom with bunk beds, which are suitable for children only, making the cottage ideal for a couple, a young family, or a business guest. Accommodating up to four guests, Wheeler Cottage is fully equipped with a modern kitchen that includes an electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. The bathroom features a shower over the bath, a WC and a basin. Professionally laundered linen and towels are provided for your comfort and the cottage also includes complimentary Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, a DVD player and an iron with ironing board for added convenience. The cottage has its own private garden and also shares a dedicated patio area with Lenton Cottage.

Visiting the Area

The cottages are located in the unspoiled medieval village of Lacock, a place rich in history and charm, with plenty to see and explore, including Lacock Abbey and the picturesque local countryside. The village is home to several pubs, each offering its own unique atmosphere and serving a variety of food. Just a short walk from the cottages is Whitehall Garden Centre, one of the largest in the country and a popular destination in its own right. The Rectory Cottages are ideally positioned for visiting nearby attractions such as Corsham Court and village, Castle Combe, Bowood House, Bath, Longleat and Avebury.
