Stable Cottage
Details
Stable Cottage is in Milton Lilbourne, which is a small village near Pewsey in the unspoilt heart of Wiltshire. The village is a no through road and the cottage is situated almost at the far end so is extremely peaceful. You will look out from your bedroom onto rolling countryside as shown in the view below. We offer attractive prices and availability all year round. Pets are allowed but only by arrangement (note there is no enclosed garden) and there are plenty of lovely walks on your doorstep.
It is a charming timber-clad converted agricultural building, offering detached, single-level accommodation. The spacious open-plan living area includes a cosy sitting room and a dining/work table. The cottage features two bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities, a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a second bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Near the entrance, a small washroom is equipped with a tumble dryer and a large sink, perfect for cleaning boots or gear. The fully electric kitchen is well-equipped, including a washing machine and electric wall panel radiators provide warmth in every room. Modern conveniences include superfast Wi-Fi, a TV with DVD player in the living area and a second TV in the main bedroom. Newspapers can be delivered daily upon request.
We are on the very edge of one of the prettiest of villages in the Pewsey Vale, Milton Lilbourne which is itself on the edge of Salisbury Plain. The cottage overlooks fields which are almost level so there are plenty of easy walks from the front door. There are plenty of "hilly" walks too, if you prefer. Being at the end of a cul-de-sac the site is very quiet and only disturbed by the occasional tractor or sound of horse's hooves. The Kennet & Avon canal is about a mile away.
Pewsey is about a five minute drive away, it has a railway station, a Co-op supermarket, a heritage centre, a bridge club and a library with information centre, as well as many places to eat. Marlborough is 15 minutes away and is much larger with a fine wide High Street, busy shops and a Waitrose supermarket. People have lived in the area for thousands of years, there are many ancient hill forts, medieval churches, lovely little villages with thatched cottages all set in the most beautiful countryside and stunning views everywhere. We are also in easy reach of the famous stone circles of Stonehenge and Avebury.
