Bay House
Details
Bay House, once the village grocery store and even featured in a Danepak advert, is located on the historic Upper High Street in Broadway. Just minutes from the heart of the village, it offers easy access to pubs, restaurants, cafés and shops. Broadway itself sits on the famous Cotswold Way, a national walking trail that stretches 102 miles from Chipping Campden to Bath, making it an ideal base for exploring the area on foot.
Accommodation options at Bay House include The Old House, The Old Grocery and The Granary. Guests can book The Old House (1 double and 1 twin) and The Old Grocery (2 doubles and 1 twin) separately, or combine them via an internal lockable door to create a spacious five-bedroom property, all with en-suite facilities. For larger groups, The Granary, a separate one-bedroom cottage can also be added, creating a six-bedroom retreat with four doubles and two twins.
The Old House offers a cosy, traditional Cotswold cottage feel with original wooden beams and low ceilings. The living room leads to a breakfast kitchen with a table for four or more and a stable door opens to an enclosed garden that serves as a sun trap, perfect for warm evenings. Upstairs, there’s a double bedroom and a twin room, both with en-suite shower rooms. Heating is provided by modern electric radiators in each room. Please note, the stairs are steep and narrow with a tight turn at the top, so guests with mobility issues should consult the owners before booking.
The Granary is a compact yet charming one-bedroom cottage that blends historical features like exposed beams with modern touches. It’s heated by individually controlled electric radiators and boasts a large, sunny garden for outdoor relaxation.
The Old Grocery features two ground-floor reception rooms. The front room, with large bay windows, serves as a light and airy dining area and coffee lounge, while the back room is a cosy living space with a multi-fuel wood-burning stove, ideal for winter evenings.
Broadway's picturesque High Street, lined with horse chestnut trees and a mix of period homes and honey-coloured Cotswold stone cottages, has long captivated visitors.
