Welcome to St Duthus, quietly situated by the river in the village of Halkirk, 6 miles from Thurso and just off the North Coast 500 route. Halkirk is well placed for touring the scenic northern Highlands in any direction including further north across the Pentland Firth to Orkney.
Built as a Free Church manse in 1850/51, the house offers spacious accommodation.
There are two B&B rooms -
The Garden Room on the ground floor, at the front of the house, with 4’ twin beds and a large en suite shower room; TV in the lounge.
The French Room on the first floor, to the rear of the house away from the private rooms, has a king size bed and adjacent private bathroom; in-room TV.

All of the guest rooms are on the ground floor and offer tasteful decor and top quality furnishings. Our traditional double room has a view over the Moray Firth and an en suite with bath and separate shower.
Our botanical room comes with 3 single beds. It looks out over the caravan park and has a large wet room with under tile heating and all the necessary facilities for disabled guests. Our peaches and cream room also looks out over the caravan park and has one double bed and one single bed and a large bathroom with shower over the bath.

The house was home to the harbour masters of Pulteney and Wick Harbours until 2000 when it was purchased by ourselves. The house overlooks Wick bay with great views of the harbour and marina, with 4 letting rooms, en-suite with tea/coffee facilities. The Old Inn at Reay in Caithness is truly a piece of Scottish history. It was originally built in 1739 as an Inn serving both travellers and the people of the village of Reay. The original building is still intact and in use as a private home and a bed and breakfast establishment today. Additions have been made over the years but these have all been done in sympathy with the original building.
The bedrooms both have televisions with Freeview and DVD players, we also have a DVD library for your use while you are staying with us.
