Tangasdale Beach Cottages are a pair of homely holiday cottages on the Isle of Barra. They are set in one of the most idyllic locations in the Western Isles and have spectacular views of the sea. Our uninterrupted surroundings mean that no matter the time of day you can enjoy the ever-changing scenery, which is particularly magnificent at sunset. We are only 2 miles from Castlebay, the main village and community on the Isle of Barra.
Our two cottages have a comfortable and homely feel. We welcome both children and pets in the cottages so they really are fantastic for those who are looking for a place to stay on the next family break away.

Balivanich is also known by it's Gaelic name, Baile a' Mhanaich which means 'town of the monks'. This refers back to the 6th century when there was a monastery here and the ruins of Columba's Church can be found just south of the village.
