Built as a summer retreat in 1890 for a wealthy London bankers family but more recently used to provide self-catering in Devon. Oldaport is steeped in history. The farmhouse is believed to be of early 17th century origin and represents a good example of a cross-passage farmhouse. It stands where much earlier houses are known to have stood, including one mentioned in the Domesday Book owned by the de la Porte family. Adjoining the house and buildings are remains of ancient fortifications which commands two valleys.
