Alvechurch is situated 12 miles from Birmingham, 3 miles from Redditch, 20 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon, and 30 minutes by car to the NEC. Old house stables was the stables for the neighbouring house, which was a coaching house in the 17th century. Shakespeare is reputed to have written part of the 'The Tempest' whilst staying there. The local vicar was defrocked for doing naughties with the scullery maid in the 19th century. Certainly an historic property.

Spring Self Catering Cottage was converted from a former cow shed to a holiday cottage by the present owners in 2000. Whilst including all facilities you would expect to find in a modern home, many of the features and the character of the original buildings have been retained.
The entrance leads you into the dining kitchen, fully fitted with modern shaker style units and open to the eaves. All the usual appliances are present, including an electric oven and hob, refrigerator with large icebox, automatic washer/dryer, toaster and microwave with integrated grill. The large pine kitchen table comfortably sits up to six and there is ample coat hanging space on the saddle rack rescued during restoration.
