Highfield House is a small well-sheltered 1.4 acre touring site that is open all year. The ground is gently sloping but with lots of level pitches. Advance booking is advisable in high season.

There is a bus stop within 50 yards of the site entrance.

The mining museum is close by and well worth a visit.

The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is 4 miles away.

Charlotte’s Ice Cream Parlour at The Meadows Farm in nearby Whitley makes 30 flavours of delicious ice cream. You can watch the whole process from milking the cows, to making the ice cream, and then taste the final results! There is also a play area and small rides for the children plus lots of animals.

We are also a handy base for exploring the surrounding towns such as Wakefield and Huddersfield.
