Located 6 miles from West Calder and 9 miles from Livingston in West Lothian, the 4 holiday cottages on Crosswoodhill Farm individually sleep 2 to 16 guests. Each property offers unique individuality. Crosswoodhill holds a Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor, updated annually as more lovely reviews get added. Steading Cottage - This two storey open-plan self catering cottage sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. The living room/dining area has 2 comfortable leather sofas, a multi-fuel stove for ambience , a LED flatscreen TV and a granite topped island that separates this room from the fully equipped kitchen. The double bedroom has an en-suite shower room with WC. There is also a small single bedroom downstairs. Opposite the bedrooms is the large bathroom that has a power shower, bath, WC, basin and rail grabs. Stairs lead into a small gallery, above the kitchen and overlooking the living area. A door leads to a spacious attic family room with two single beds and a double bed. Children, and their parents love this room with plenty of floor space to enjoy the toys and games we provide. Equally useful is the spacious porch room on entry. Housing the washing machine, tumble drier, etc. it is spacious and particularly useful for guests with dogs wanting a few hours when their dog is unable to join them. Steading Cottage is graded 4 STAR by VisitScotland.

Crosswoodhill Wing of Farmhouse - Sleeps 4 / 6 in 3 bedrooms. This 2 storey accommodation has a lovely ambience. Guests enter this more traditionally furnished holiday cottage through a garden exclusive to the Wing, though there is an exciting play area in the woods behind, open to all our guests.. Downstairs is a fully equipped galley-style kitchen. Adjacent to the kitchen is a smallish living room/dining room, with a multi-fuel stove and flat screen TV. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. One has a double bed. The far away bedroom quickly transforms into a second living room if needed: a quick make of the double bed, a distribution of the cushions and this room becomes an attractive second living area with its extra sofa, single chairs, TV and table / desk. Teenagers love this room offering privacy to both them and their parents downstairs! Also upstairs is the third bedroom with a set of adult size bunkbeds. The Wing is graded high 3 STAR by VisitScotland.

Orlege End – Sleeping 2 / 5 this 2 storey holiday property with the wow factor is a conversion. It’s romantic! Open-plan with a spacious living/ dining area, Orlege has split level ceiling heights for interest. At the far end of the living area is a large solid oak cupboard which, within it, hides a surprisingly discreet double bed with a fully sprung mattress. This sleeping area with its own window and en suite bathroom can be fully curtained off from the living area and is ideal for anyone with mobility difficulties or for a second couple. The living / dining area is sumptuous with 2 very comfortable leather sofas, single armchairs and a multi-fuel stove. Also downstairs is the really spacious and fully equipped kitchen with a table and chairs. This inviting area lets you enjoy your meals whilst gazing out into the cobbled patio area or catching up on the news or weather forecast from the wall-mounted TV there.. Upstairs there is a large split level bedroom that has 3 beds, 2 of which can be zip linked together to make a superking size double bed. Off this room is a second bathroom, again with shower, bath and wc. At the top of the stairs is a lovely gallery area which is the perfect place to relax with a book, or to gaze across and out of the upper storey window or view from aloft the larger part of the stylish living area below.

Craigengar Lodge - The living area in this self catering property accommodates up to 16 people with 2 dining room tables and comfortable sofas to sink into. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for a self catering holiday and there is also a utility room. All 5 bedrooms in this lodge are individually designed and the same goes for each ensuite bathroom. Wonderful mood lighting and the Sonos sound system are lovely and popular touches.

Prices are shown for the 3 smaller cottages but please email the owner for prices for Craigengar Lodge. For the smaller cottages we do prefer Saturday to Saturday bookings but can be flexible with late availability.

These self catering properties at Crosswoodhill make a great base for visiting lots of the attractions and activities in the local area. The cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling are within a half hour and hour’s drive. Over the Forth and the wonderful Fife villages and St. Andrews are with 90 mins drive

You could also discover the Borders, a wonderful mixture of landscapes, bleak moorland, river valleys, lush pasture with the character of the countryside changing with peculiar rapidity. So many places, all close, and many of them weather-proof!
